Slow Cooker Hot Chocolate
This delicious hot chocolate is made for a crowd in your slow cooker!
Course: Drinks
Cuisine: American
Keyword: hot chocolate
- 6 cups whole milk
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- pinch of salt (optional)
Turn slow cooker setting to low.
Add all ingredients to slow cooker and whisk thoroughly until combined.
Cover with the lid and allow to warm approximately 2 hours, whisking every 30 minutes.
Stir before ladling into mugs. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon or crushed peppermints.
To make this on the stovetop, whisk all ingredients together in a large pot over medium to medium low heat until temperature reaches 160. Heating it lower and slower will prevent the milk and chocolate from scalding.
Stir every 30-40 minutes to prevent solidifying on the bottom.
Add several peppermint candies to your food processor and pulverize until fine. Peppermint "dust" is great over hot chocolate and other desserts!
