Ingredients

  • 6 ozs. frozen orange juice concentrate (half of a can)
  • 1 cup whole or 2% milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg white*
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups crushed or cubed ice

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. An immersion blender may also be used. Enjoy!

Notes

* As always, when consuming raw egg, understand the risks of contracting salmonella. I've seen several copycat recipes omit this ingredient. While it is delicious without it, it will not be like the original. The secret ingredient has always been the egg white, which helps create the frothiness and texture we loved about the original Orange Julius.
Feel free to add fresh strawberries, banana, mango, or blackberries for a fruity twist on this wonderful drink!
