How to make Crostini

This easy appetizer base will delight even the pickiest guests.

Equipment

  • baking sheet
  • Sharp bread knife
  • wooden cutting board
  • Pastry brush

Materials

  • 1 french baguette or bag of premade dinner rolls
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil (EVOO)
  • 1 tablespoon kosher or flaked salt
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375.
  • Using a sharp bread knife, slice baguette or rolls 1/4" thick.
  • Brush EVOO over bread slices.
  • Sprinkle evenly with salt, and the optional spices.
  • Bake in preheated oven 16-20 minutes until light golden brown.
  • Allow to cool to room temperature. Enjoy!

Notes

The dinner rolls will take longer to bake than a baguette, and may need an additional 5 minutes or so.
