Homemade Hummus

This easy and delicious hummus comes together wonderfully in the blender.

Ingredients

  • 1 can chickpeas or garbanzo beans, drained, reserve water
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 2 garlic cloves, fresh or roasted
  • 3-4 tablespoons water from the can (possibly more)
  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1-2 teaspoons lemon juice, or juice from half a lemon
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt, or to taste

Instructions

  • Blend all ingredients in a blender or food processor until smooth. May have to adjust water quantity up by the tablespoon. It can start off quite thick.
  • Garnish with drizzled olive oil, red pepper flakes, or parsley.
