In my last post, How to Cook Country Ham, I strongly advised you to save that ham water. Hopefully you did, because here is one of my absolute favorite recipes.
Slow cooker ham and beans is true comfort food. My family can’t get enough, honestly. The salted ham water infuses such an amazing flavor and you can’t beat the ease of this recipe. Perfect any time of the year, but this is our favorite way of using leftover country ham from Easter and other holidays.
These beans are a hearty meal, think a thick stew, and we usually eat them with a salad and bread. The ham water used in this recipe will infuse a lot of salt. To minimize saltiness, add half ham water and half regular water to slow cooker instead.
These beans will keep in an air tight container in the fridge for several days. Enjoy!
