Breakfast Banana Splits

May 20, 2020 · Christina · Leave a Comment

Good morning, friends! Have you seen these Breakfast Banana Splits floating around the internet? I first saw them several years ago, and still see variations of the recipe pop up occasionally on social media.

If you’re not making these, you are missing out on a delicious, healthy, and filling breakfast that kids and adults love!

Breakfast Banana Splits are really simple to make, with lots of variations to try. I love having fresh fruit for breakfast, and the addition of honey, granola, and a dollop of whipped cream bring it over the top.

These could just as easily be an afternoon snack, or even a healthy dessert. I plan on serving these during our vacation at the beach, since the ingredients require almost no refrigeration, and they are perfect for camping mornings as well.

They are also a great breakfast for those sleepover mornings, when hungry friends and kids are begging for something other than cereal. They will not disappoint, promise!

Try them and let me know what’s your favorite combo! Enjoy!

This banana split contains a banana, strawberries, crushed pineapple, blackberries, granola, honey, and whipped cream.

Ingredients to use for Breakfast Banana Splits

Here’s what I recommend:

  • bananas- cut in half (obviously)
  • diced strawberries
  • blackberries
  • blueberries
  • raspberries
  • crushed pineapple
  • halved grapes
  • yogurt
  • honey
  • nutella
  • peanut or almond butter
  • whipped cream (can also use cool whip)
  • Jello pudding
  • maple syrup
  • granola
  • craisins or raisins
  • chocolate syrup
  • sliced almonds
  • chopped pecans
  • chocolate chips (if you’re feeling extra indulgent)

To assemble:

Slice bananas in half, place on plate. I try to make a little “mound” towards the center.

Cover banana halves with diced strawberries, crushed pineapple, and any other fresh fruit you prefer.

By the way, I absolutely LOVE my strawberry slicer. My mother gave me one over a decade ago, and it really has become a necessary kitchen gadget. If you make a lot of strawberry dishes like we do, I HIGHLY recommend purchasing one.

Add about a third cup granola. My Guiltless Granola is delicious, but store bought is fine of course.

Drizzle maple syrup, honey, melted nut butters, nutella, and/or chocolate syrup over the top.

Add a dollop of whipped cream, vanilla or banana pudding, or yogurt.

Sprinkle more granola, sliced almonds, chopped pecans, craisins, raisins, and/or chocolate chips on top.

That’s it! Customize it if needed, and enjoy this wonderful and easy breakfast or brunch!
